The Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is an inter-governmental body within the United Nations system responsible for the strengthening, promotion and protection of human rights around the globe and for addressing situations of human rights violations. The body then gives counsel and recommendations on them. It has the ability to discuss all thematic human rights issues and situations that may require its attention all throughout the year and its meetings are held in the UN Office at Geneva.
